Hi, I just got a K450 from my great-great-aunt who recently passed away and we couldn't find the CD for the software to install on my computer to be able to record stuff on my computer using the keyboard. Is there any way I'd be able to get a new one at all or is it not really necessary? Also, how am I to plug it into my laptop as the connections I've seen that appear to be for a computer connection seem too outdated for my laptop.

Does anyone have any suggested solutions for that?

Thanks,

Nusket.

Re: K450

Hi Nuskt, Your keyboard did not come with any dedicated software due t it's age (1086) With instruments of this generation. Most people use programs like "Audacity" This is to record Audio Files and is connected via Audio out to line in on the Laptop. To do any sequencing you will need a commercial Program but please note the K450 is NOT a General MIDI (GM) Keyboard because GM was only agreed at the Frankfurt Music Trade Fair in 1990 and did not work it's way into the market place until 1992/3. Any connection to the midi sockets will need a MIDI/USB interface. I am not sure what kind of support there is in New Zealand from local music/computer stores.
All the very best John.
