Hello,

I have a KN901 keyboard and I know that onboard factory styles can be export with Composer Rec mode to a floppy...

My question: can anybody make it the same on a KN1000, who have this keyboard?

Story: my first music teacher had a KN1000 in 1993. I got my first lessons on that keyboard and I loved its expressive and musical styles. I feel some nostalgic mood on it. I think so, the Stlye Works soft can convert KN1000 styles too.

Please share these styles, who can help and know the exact style exporting methode with intros, fills and endings on KN1000.

Thanks!

Hi, Welcome to the site,For your KN901 the files need to be converted to KN2000 format to be able to be loaded. This conversion is not one I have tried (ie:- KN1000 to KN2000) as both the KN800 and KN1000 have very limited stye to composer transfer ability. I will see if I can get Style Works can copy across a nd I will let you know how I get on.
Regards John.

Hello John,

Thank you for your help!
Yes, I know the KN2000 format supporting on KN901.

Well, firstly I select a style on KN901 and push RECORD on Composer area.
Next, the Copy function loads style parameters in a Composer memory cell, but it's a separate procedure for the main theme, intro, fills and ending sections to their designated memory areas. (This requires switching to Expanded Composer mode.)
The variation section don't assignable to on this way at the same time. For this, have to escape from Composer mode and turn on the variation (its button light). Then, back to the Composer record mode and copy to the variaton main theme an other memory cell.
Thereafter, in Disk mode the KN901 able to save all copied style elements into a Composer file type.

I have read the KN1000 manual too, and it contains the same procedure, and the StyleWorks probably knows convert these flie format.

Regards, audity

Re: Technics KN1000 onboard factory styles

Hi, Sorry I had not replied earlier, I have been trying to see which is the easer way to load the styles as both the KN800 and the KN1000 use a rather longwinded way when it comes to style coping. from the KN2000 and your KN901 things got a little easier although the procedure is basically the same. I have checked with my friends who wrote some of the styles back in the day and they explained that as it was easier from the KN2000 that is why they had not included the earler styles in the sets of software because a lot of the internal features like MSA. were in-bedded and not easily copied to Composer or to output via MIDI. However I am still working on the project and will keep intouch as soon as I have news.
Regards John.
